Pop Brixton

Supported Unit: Bounce Back

Bounce Back are a Charity and Social Enterprise that moved into Pop Brixton in November last year.

They work inside and out of several prisons, focussing on the training and employment of ex-offenders. It operates a state of the art training centre within HMP Brixton, where it offers prisoners an 8-10 week course in painting and decorating and an introduction to construction. Participants gain skills, confidence and qualifications and are prepared for employment upon their release. They also run a professional painting and decorating company that employs many of the participants who have successfully passed through the training programme.

They firmly believe that everyone has the ability to change and with their training centres in HMP Brixton as well as their painting and decorating business operating around London and the Home Counties, they are ideally placed to support people at the end of their sentences and act as a ‘bridge’ between prison and full time employment. Other members benefitting from supported units include Co-Pop, Container Records, Brixton’s Baddest, Reprezent Radio, Afro Retro, Restoration Brixton and BoomBocs.
